Vienna Center for Experimental Economics Seminars

Organizer: Jean-Robert Tyran

This seminar provides a platform to discuss ongoing research in experimental economics. It has a dual nature. First, it is a classic research seminar in which external researchers present their ongoing research. It is open to anyone interested in experimental economics. Second, it is part of a seminar for advanced Master students and Doctoral students. Students read the paper beforehand and discuss it in class. They articulate their comments and questions on the papers by writing a referee report which is forwarded to the presenters.

The format takes this dual nature into account. The VCEE research seminar proceeds as follows: External speakers give a short presentation of about 30 minutes (only to be interrupted by questions for clarification). The speaker then addresses some of the questions raised by the students in their reports as they see fit, and students are welcome to react to the responses of the speaker (max. 30 minutes). The remaining time (at least 30 minutes) is devoted to questions from the audience. We invite open discussion. Participants are welcome to raise broader, more general issues.

The research seminar takes place on Mondays, 11:30 – 13:00.
