VCEE Congratulates ECONtribute at U Bonn / Cologne

The Vienna Center for Experimental Economics (VCEE) warmly congratulates ECONtribute, the Cluster of Excellence at the Universities of Bonn and Cologne, on the renewal of its funding by the German Research Foundation (DFG) through 2032. ECONtribute is Germany’s only Cluster of Excellence for economics, bringing together around 150 scholars working on fundamental questions about markets and public policy. ECONtribute has established itself as one of the world’s leading groups for research in behavioral and experimental economics.

VCEE is proud to deepen its ties with this vibrant research community. In 2023, we welcomed Sören Harrs to the VCEE. Sören completed his PhD at the University of Cologne as part of ECONtribute, where his research focused on the role of fairness and identity for economic decision-making. Learn more about his work.

We are also excited to announce that Christopher Roth, Professor at the University of Cologne and ECONtribute member, will deliver a keynote lecture at our upcoming BEPE 2025 Workshop on Behavioral Public Economics and Political Economy, to be held on September 1–2, 2025, at the University of Vienna. Christopher Roth is recognized as one of the most influential economists in recent years, known for his innovative work on narratives and belief formation. Learn more about his work.

We look forward to continued exchange and collaboration with ECONtribute and to welcoming leading scholars to Vienna for our BEPE 2025 workshop.
