Jean-Robert Tyran gives a talk at the CESifo Area Conference on Behavioral Economics to be held in Munich, October 24 – 25, 2025 (see here for the program).
The purpose of the conference is to bring together members of CESifo and of the Collaborative Research Center, Rationality and Competition (CRC) to present and discuss their ongoing research, and to stimulate interaction and co-operation between them. Jean-Robert Tyran is a member of the CESifo Area Behavioral Economics which sheds light on the driving forces, biases and motivations behind the decisions of economic agents, including investors, borrowers, consumers, and institutions. It explores the limits of rationality in such decisions and their effects upon markets, policies and resource allocation. Among the aspects to be examined are the roles of social preferences and boundedly rational behavior in decisions under uncertainty and intertemporal choice.
